About Kedarnath Tungnath Tour
Spiritual Himalayan Journey – Devotion, Nature & Adventure Combined
The Kedarnath Tungnath Tour is one of the most soul-enriching Himalayan journeys, combining spirituality, mountain adventure, and breathtaking scenic beauty. This carefully crafted 5-day itinerary is ideal for beginners, families, and devotees who wish to experience two of the most iconic spiritual sites in the Himalayas — Kedarnath Temple and Tungnath Temple — along with the panoramic Chandrashila Summit at 12,000 ft.
Journey Through the Garhwal Himalayas
Your journey begins from Delhi with an overnight drive to Haridwar, followed by a scenic road trip through the Garhwal Himalayas. The route winds alongside the sacred rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini, passing through the major Prayags and picturesque mountain towns before arriving at Guptakashi — your base camp for the Kedarnath trek. Every bend in the road reveals dramatic gorges, dense forests, and snow-capped peaks that set the tone for this spiritual adventure.
The Kedarnath Trek – A Sacred Himalayan Pilgrimage
The Kedarnath trek begins from Gaurikund and covers a rewarding trail of 16–18 km. Key waypoints like Jungle Chatti, Bheembali, and Lincholi offer magnificent valley views and a wide Himalayan backdrop. By late afternoon, you arrive at the legendary Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains and the ancient sanctity of the shrine, the experience is deeply spiritual and unforgettable. If time permits, witnessing the evening aarti at Kedarnath is a profoundly moving experience.
Chopta – Mini Switzerland of India & the Tungnath Trek
After descending from Kedarnath, the journey continues to Chopta, popularly known as the "Mini Switzerland of India." Surrounded by dense rhododendron forests, open meadows, and stunning Himalayan vistas, Chopta serves as the starting point for the Tungnath and Chandrashila trek. The stone-paved trail climbs through lush meadows to reach Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. Just 1.5 km above Tungnath lies Chandrashila Summit, where a magnificent 360° panorama reveals peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kedar Dome.
Deoriatal – A Serene Himalayan Lake
The final highlight of the tour is Deoriatal Lake, a pristine alpine lake famous for its crystal-clear reflections of the Chaukhamba Peak. The short beginner-friendly trek from Sari Village to the lake adds a peaceful, meditative conclusion to your Himalayan journey. This tour package includes transportation, accommodation, meals, and guidance — ensuring a safe, comfortable, and deeply enriching experience for all travellers exploring the Himalayas for the first time.
