Covering approximately 64 to 76 kilometers over eight days, the route passes through some of the most pristine landscapes in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Trek Route & Key Waypoints
The journey begins from Dehradun and heads towards Sankri, the gateway to many famous Himalayan treks. From there, trekkers travel through Taluka, Osla, Seematra, Har Ki Dun, Ratta Tho, Upper Lamjunga, and finally the majestic Borasu Pass before descending into the beautiful Baspa Valley and Chitkul — the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border.
Har Ki Dun — The Valley of Gods
One of the major highlights of the Borasu Pass Trek is the iconic Har Ki Dun Valley. Known as the Valley of Gods, Har Ki Dun offers lush meadows, snow-covered peaks, dense forests, and traditional Himalayan villages. As trekkers move higher, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic with glacier-fed streams, moraine fields, alpine campsites, and technical mountain terrain.
Summit Day — Crossing the Mighty Borasu Pass
The trek reaches its most exciting phase on summit day when participants cross the mighty Borasu Pass. The climb involves traversing snowfields, rocky sections, glacier zones, and steep mountain slopes. Upon reaching the summit, trekkers are rewarded with stunning views of surrounding Himalayan peaks and untouched wilderness stretching across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
