About Char Dham Yatra Trek
The Ultimate Himalayan Pilgrimage – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath & Badrinath in 9 Days
The Char Dham Yatra Trek is one of the most sacred and transformative journeys in India, taking travelers through four highly revered pilgrimage sites — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. This Char Dham Yatra Trek package is a perfect blend of spirituality, adventure, and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, making it an unforgettable experience for devotees and trekking enthusiasts alike. Spanning the stunning Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, each dham carries deep religious significance while offering exceptional natural beauty.
Yamunotri – Source of the Sacred Yamuna
The journey begins with Yamunotri, the origin of the Yamuna River, nestled at an altitude of around 3,293 meters. This leg includes a 5 km trek from Jankichatti to Yamunotri Temple — steep but manageable, with tea stalls and rest points along the way. Travelers who prefer not to walk can opt for ponies or palkis for a comfortable ascent to this sacred shrine.
Gangotri – Origin of the Holy Ganga
Next, the Char Dham Yatra Trek moves to Gangotri, the birthplace of the sacred River Ganga. Unlike Yamunotri, Gangotri is accessible entirely by road, making this a more relaxed leg of the journey. The scenic drive passes through picturesque Himalayan towns and offers mesmerizing views of dense forests, glistening rivers, and snow-capped peaks at every turn.
Kedarnath – The Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva
The most adventurous section of the Char Dham trek package is the trek to Kedarnath — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The trek covers approximately 19 km from Gaurikund, passing through Jungle Chatti and Bheem Bali with stunning Himalayan vistas throughout. Reaching a maximum altitude of 11,755 ft (3,583 m), this section requires basic fitness but rewards trekkers with an unmatched spiritual experience amid the grandeur of the Himalayas.
Badrinath & Mana Village – Abode of Lord Vishnu
The final destination is the magnificent Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, situated near the Alaknanda River at around 3,300 meters. Accessible by road, the drive passes through Joshimath and Govind Ghat. A visit to Mana Village — the last Indian village near the Indo-Tibetan border — adds a rare cultural and geographical dimension to this already extraordinary journey.
Package Inclusions & Fitness Notes
