Detailed Itinerary
Early in the morning is the best time to leave Dehradun for Raithal. As you follow the Bhagirathi River, Mussoorie and Uttarkashi are two beautiful cities you should not miss. Located at an elevation of 7,545 feet, Raithal is a peaceful place and village. Breathe in the fresh mountain air as you adapt to the higher elevation. Enjoy exploring the little community of Raithal while learning about its fascinating history and stunning landscapes. During the night, we will stay at Raithal.
Walking from Raithal to Gui after a heavy meal is the best way to get there. You may see wildlife and plants up close during the four-kilometer walk through verdant woodlands. It is possible for trekkers to see flamboyant blooms of rhododendrons in the spring (around March to mid-May). Well-maintained trails make the somewhat steep climb more bearable. There are rest stops along the way, as well as trash cans for your convenience. You will see beautiful panoramic views of Mount Bandarpuch and the Garhwal Himalayas as you arrive at Gui. Your elevated vantage point will give you a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape as you set up camp for the night.
Take a walk from Gui to Dayara Bugyal on your third day. Despite its modest hills, the 3- to 4-kilometer journey never disappoints. As you stroll through the forest, immerse yourself in its deep and fascinating surroundings. When you reach Dayara Bugyal’s base, take a moment to relax and refuel before continuing your climb. The magnificent mountain ranges will appear to you in all their splendor from this vantage point. About 8 to 9 kilometers of lush meadows surround Dayara Bugyal. It is your principal objective to reach Bakriya Top, which is around 12,200 feet above sea level. The hike to Bakriya’s summit is incredible, and it’s an incredible accomplishment. Enjoy a packed lunch with your hiking companions at Dayara Bugyal. Explore the region’s attractions and lose yourself in its breathtaking scenery. A panoramic view of Uttarkashi and the surrounding villages awaits you at Bakriya Top. Stunning views of Srikantha, Jaonli, Darwa Pass, Black Peak, Bundarpuch, and the Bandurpuch Glacier await you. In this high vantage point, you can see all major mountain ranges and hiking trails in the area. For the night, head back to Gui and set up camp.
Begin descending to Raithal after saying goodbye to Gui. Through the beautiful woodlands and fields from where you started, you will return on this 4-kilometer trek. Raithal is a great place to finish your trekking journey. Raithal is the starting point of your trip back to Dehradun. During the trek back, you will be able to take in the sights and sounds of Dayara Bugyal.
