Overview - Phulara Ridge Trek Package, Uttarakhand
Ridge treks are incredibly rare in India. The majority of Himalayan treks lead you to summits where you can take in the views of the mountains before descending. A ridge, however, gives you a chance to enjoy panoramic views more often since it connects two sides of a mountain. As you walk along the sloping flanks of the mountain sloping down on either side, it feels like you’re walking along a knife-edge.
Some Himalayan treks, however, include ridgewalks as small sections. Our goal at Explore Hills was to create something more elaborate. In 2018, when we explored Phulara Ridge, we struck gold.
It was an adventure unlike any other. Phulara Ridge was named after the fact that the trek allowed for one full day of ridge walking. A 250-degree sweep of majestic peaks framed by hours of uninterrupted vistas await you on this day-long ridge walk. There is nothing like this experience. Mountains almost seem to accompany you on your journey as companions.
Nevertheless, the Phulara Ridge Trek goes much further than just hiking ridges. Along the way, our exploration team observed an abundance of wildflowers, thus the name of the trek. Whether it’s the virgin forest between Pushtara and Taluka or the magical Bhoj Gadi or Pushtara meadows, there is no shortage of variety. When you combine this with the cultural heritage of Kotgaon, the base village, you get the Phulara Ridge Trek.
This trek is without a doubt India’s best ridge trek. There are also countless other beautiful landscapes to be found on the island. The Phulara Ridge will mesmerize novices and seasoned trekkers alike.
